Position Summary:  The Network and Infrastructure Specialist is accountable directly to the Network Engineer and is based out of  Conway Health and Resource Center in SW DC.

 

Salary – The salary range for this position is $32.25 - $36.05 per hour and the offer amount is determined by the candidate's education, qualifications, and experience. Indeed provides its own estimated salary calculator and is not affiliated with COH’s range. 


Highlighted Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Implements, and support secure IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and storage solutions. 
  • Provides tier 2 support for helpdesk tickets related to infrastructure and security issues, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure that security considerations are integrated into all projects and operations.
  • Assists and supports Network Engineer with firewalls, and endpoint security solutions. 
  • Maintains documentation for infrastructure configurations, security protocols, and incident response procedures. 
  • Stays current with the latest security threats, trends, and compliance requirements to recommend improvements.
  • Provides training and support to staff on security awareness and best practices. 
  • Performs preventative maintenance of COH infrastructure. 
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, cybersecurity or equivalent experience required.
  • 3-5 years of experience in IT infrastructure support with a focus on security, including helpdesk support. 
  • Strong knowledge of network security protocols, firewalls, VPNs, and encryption   technologies. 
  • Experience with security frameworks and compliance standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001). 
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g. PowerShell) for automation and security   tasks. 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Relevant security certifications (e.g. Security+, CySA+, Network+) 
  • Familiarity with cloud security practices and tools (e.g. Azure). 
  • Experience with security information and event management (SIEM) solutions. 
  • Ability to travel to other COH sites required.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed, required.
  • In relation to remote vs. on-site work, this position is classified as the   following: Hybrid: Remote work and on-site work requirements are generally split roughly 50/50. Please note that remote work designations are subject to change or fluctuate at any   point in time and the supervisor may require in person learning for a specific amount of time after hire.

About Us:

Community of Hope is a mission-driven, innovative, and rapidly growing nonprofit. For 45 years, we have provided healthcare, housing, and community support services to make Washington, DC more equitable. As a Federally Qualified Health Center, we provide medical, dental, emotional wellness, and care coordination services for the whole family at three locations in DC. Community of Hope also strongly emphasizes maternal and child health, with midwifery practice and the only free-standing birth center in DC.
