SUMMARY
The Housekeeper/Cook provides cleaning, cooking and/or laundry services for Pastor and other residents at the Rectory.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following duties and functions, as outlined herein, are intended to be representative of the type of tasks performed within this classification. They are not listed in any order of importance. The omission of specific statements of duties or functions does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned.
Housekeeper
· Maintains Rectory by dusting and polishing furniture, equipment, mirrors and fixtures, washing windows, counters, walls and woodwork.
· Maintain floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing floors, vacuuming, and cleaning carpeting.
· Cleans and resupplies restrooms.
· Performs general cleaning and disinfecting using approved solvents and appropriate tools.
· Removes trash by emptying trash containers; transports materials to disposal area; recycles materials.
· Services and/or reports mechanical malfunctions.
· Performs seasonal work surrounding special meetings and events.
· Assists with preparation for assigned functions; follows up with cleaning.
· Cleans hallways, restrooms, offices, dining room, entrances, etc., daily.
· Performs scheduled monthly, semiannual, or annual janitorial duties, i.e., floor waxing, interior window washing, carpet cleaning, etc..
· Provides set-up and cleaning for different functions as assigned.
· Develop a cleaning schedule to assure the house is maintained in an orderly manner.
· Provides laundry services for pastor and residents. Washes, dries, and irons clothing and linens.
Cook
· Plans and prepares meals, purchases food, and cleans kitchen. Collaborates with Pastor in determining meal schedule and budget for food.
· On some occasions, prepares dinner for Pastor and guests for dinner meetings.
· Purchases and/or orders household supplies for the house. Prepares list of supplies needed and makes purchase as authorized by the pastor or his delegate.
· Maintains “customer” confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
· Continually monitors timeliness to achieve timely completion of all jobs.
QUALIFICATIONS

CATHOLIC FAITH
Requires an appreciation and respect for the Catholic Church and its teachings. Church employees must conduct themselves in a manner that is consistent with and supportive of the mission and purpose of the Church. Their public behavior must not violate the faith, morals or laws of the Church or the policies of the diocese.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School degree or equivalent. Successful work experience in housekeeping, meal preparation and completing a cleaning plan. Must provide own transportation for job-related responsibilities.
Other Skills and Abilities
Good organizational and interpersonal skills are required.
WORKING CONDITIONS
The working hours are part-time, 20hrs per week. Must be willing to work in conditions of stress and function well under pressure.
PHYSICAL and SENSORY REQUIREMENTS
Tasks involve the ability to exert heavy physical effort in heavy work, with greater emphasis on climbing 15 feet and balancing, but typically also involving some combination of stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling, and the lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and
materials (30 pounds).
