Description

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate MD or DO - Family Practice Physician to join our team at Unitah and Ouray Health Center in Fort Duchesne, UT. This is a full time Long Term Locum/Contract As a Family Practice Physician, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive medical care to patients of all ages.  Our ambulatory 40-hour facility is staffed by physicians, physician's assistants, nurse practitioners, and dental, optometry, and psychology providers. We provide comprehensive public health services including general medical, surgical follow-up, pediatric, prenatal and postpartum care. Dental, behavioral health, and optometry services are also available. Other clinical specialties are provided by visiting consultants and are scheduled periodically. Patients requiring more complex medical care are referred to the hospital or other contract facilities.

  • Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. through 5:00 pm
  • Full Time Hours
  • Up to 1 year contract with extension options
  • Family Practice or Internal Medicine experience as an MD Required
  • 2-3 years of experience Needed
  • IHS facility experience preferred
  • Previous Locum Tenens experience preferred
  • Board certification needed
  • Work on any US license
  • Adult and Pediatric experience required

Responsibilities:

- Conducting physical examinations and medical assessments

- Diagnosing and treating acute and chronic illnesses

- Diagnosing and treating all ages

- Prescribing medications and treatments

- Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests

- Providing patient education and counseling on health and wellness

- Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to provide coordinated care

Requirements

 

  • Completion of a (3) year residency program in a primary care specialty such as Family Practice, Pediatrics or Internal Medicine.
  • Must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
  • Must be Board Eligible or Certified, Board certification in Family Medicine 
  • Must have current BLS, Basic Life Support certification
  • Certification of Education - copy of diploma or transcripts
  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
  • Completion of an accredited Family Medicine residency program 
  • DEA license and eligibility to prescribe medication 
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in family practice preferred 
  • Strong diagnostic and clinical skills 
  • may require a current drivers license
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities 
  • Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems 
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team
  • Commitment to patient-centered care 
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills Ability to adapt to a flexible work schedule 
  • Willingness to comply with all state and federal regulations regarding medical practice 
  • must be willing to undergo a federal background check
