Description

PIER 290 Restaurant in Williams Bay, WI is hiring Hosts and Hostesses to be the first point of contact for our guests. As a host/hostess, you’ll set the tone for the dining experience by greeting guests warmly, managing reservations and waitlists, and escorting customers to their tables.

ABOUT PIER 290  

PIER 290 serves up the Lake Life as the only waterfront restaurant on Lake Geneva! Guests enjoy beautiful lake views in our dining room, front deck, or covered canopies. Our extensive menu features casual American fare for lunch, dinner, and weekend brunch. Along with dining options, guests can also sit with their toes in the sand and a drink in their hand on our lakefront sandy beach or around our fire pits throughout the summer. PIER 290 is a year-round spot for weekly specials, lakeside dining, live music, and fun! Lake Life Begins With Gage. 


RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Welcome guests with a warm and friendly attitude 
  • Provide accurate wait times and manage reservations and waiting lists 
  • Escort guests to assigned dining or bar areas and present menus 
  • Communicate with servers to ensure efficient seating and service flow 
  • Greet guests upon departure and thank them for dining with us 
  • Maintain a clean and organized reception area 
  • Cater to guests requiring extra attention (such as families with children or elderly guests) 
  • Answer incoming phone calls and assist with customer inquiries 
  • Support the wait staff and restaurant team as needed 

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Strong customer service and communication skills (in-person and by phone) 
  • Good organizational skills with the ability to monitor the dining and bar areas 
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment 
  • Flexible availability for shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays 
  • Good physical condition to walk and stand during shifts 
  • Previous hosting or hospitality experience is a plus, but not required 
  • Must be 16 years or older 

WORK SCHEDULE 

Full-time, part-time, and seasonal positions are available. We offer flexible schedules, including student-friendly options. Evenings, weekends, and holidays are required.
