This full-time position pays $20.00 an hour.


POSITION SUMMARY


The Job Coach of Vocational Services II will work in an instructor capacity to provide in-person and virtual classroom instruction and support to students across the State of Florida. Students range in age from 14-21 and all have either an IEP or a 504 Plan. Class sizes range and the position allows for instructors to lead and support the students with co-teaching and support. Staffing ratios are mandated on a 1:10 teacher to student ratio and class sizes are up to 30 students in a class. Curriculum is delivered via Microsoft Teams and utilizes PowerPoint, videos, and digital workbooks or face to face in a classroom setting. There are three core classes being offered on the virtual platform: Work Readiness Training, Self-Advocacy, and Career Camps. Currently, Work Readiness Training is being offered in the classroom setting. When time allows, the Job Coach II will also provide onsite job coaching to youth and adult clients with disabilities to help them learn their job duties and maintain employment as well as supporting Employment Specialist positions as needed.

Essential Functions Statement(s)


Instructor

  1. Assists preparation for and conducts in-person and virtual Career Camp sessions as needed.
  2. Meets with the Career Camp team to prepare for Career Camp sessions prior to and after each session.
  3. Organizes guest speakers; schedules student field trips.
  4. Contributes to in-person and virtual classroom activities or games; aids in the teaching of PowerPoint materials.
  5. Ensures student questions are answered in either an in-person or virtual format; assists students with technical issues as needed.
  6. Takes student attendance before and after classes to ensure correct roster attendance; ensures correct tracking of hours for billing purposes.
  7. Teaches virtual classes as needed.
  8. Assists students in any way to create a positive learning environment.
  9. Completes other administrative tasks as needed.
  10. Completes other tasks as directed.

Job Coach

  1. Assists clients during employment assignments to improve soft skills as well as build vocational skills; provides feedback and guidance to ensure employment is successful.
  2. Creates accommodations for clients to ensure employment success to include task lists, putting reminders on phone, modifying tasks based on client’s learning style, and others as needed.
  3. Works with supervisors at partner job sites to ensure that any issues are addressed as quickly as possible.
  4. Ensures good communication with clients, families and Vocational Rehabilitation both in person or through verbal and written communications.
  5. Attends orientation and training sessions with client once placed with an employer to provide coaching on the position duties.
  6. Records specifics of client employment for billing purposes.
  7. Writes detailed case notes for clients outlining all phone, text or in-person interactions.
  8. Completes various tasks for Employment Specialists as needed.
  9. Drives clients to various locations as needed.

SKILLS & ABILITIES


Education: Bachelor's Degree in Education or other related field preferred.


Experience: Teaching experience required; virtual teaching experience is helpful; Microsoft Teams and PowerPoint experience recommended; experience working with students with IEP’s and 504 Plans required; vocational training experience is preferred.


Computer Skills: Proficient with Microsoft Suite, Adobe and web-based database?

systems; CRM experience preferred.

Other Requirements:

  • Open availability required: must be available during days, evenings and weekends to work around students' school schedules.
  • Ability to pass a level 2 background check.
  • Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, auto registration, auto insurance minimum coverage of $50,000 property/$100,000 personal injury liability.?
  • Bilingual is a plus (English / Spanish); ASL is a plus.
  • Confidentiality and the ability to manage multiple deadlines is required.??
  • Must have own computer, printer, smartphone with data plan, and high-speed internet connection.?
