Our engineers and professionals provide Highway Design and Traffic Engineering, Bridge and Structural Engineering, Civil Design, Surveying and Mapping, Pipeline and Associated Facility Design, Geotechnical/Geophysical, Environmental Studies and Water/Wastewater design.
We are currently seeking a Civil Designer/Engineer to join Dawood’s General Civil Group. Successful candidate will report to a Senior Project Manager in General Civil and will work directly with Project Engineers, Civil Designers, and CAD Technicians to develop Municipal Infrastructure Plans, Land Development Plans and a wide variety of related deliverables in our Enola office location.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs a wide variety of design and engineering tasks under the direction of senior engineers with an increasing level of independence as experience allows
- Prepares engineering drawings, stormwater models, hydraulic analyses, and cost estimates
- Plans project layout considering site conditions and possible environmental impacts
- Prepares preliminary and final subdivision and land development plans and details
- Completes and submits National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) and erosion and sedimentation control (E&S) permit applications for subdivision and land development plans
- Readies and submits PA Department of Environmental Protection (PADEP) Erosion and Sediment Control General Permit-2 (ESCGP-2) Notices of Intent (NOIs) for energy related projects
- Drafts layout, grading, profiles and storm water management plans and reports
- Assembles construction documentation including design specifications, bidding documents, and construction contracts
- Compares contractor submittals to construction documentation to determine compliance
- Reviews land development and stormwater management plans submitted to municipal clients under the direction of senior engineers
- Inspects active construction projects, documenting progress, and calling attention to items that may not conform to plans and specifications
Required Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or associate’s degree with 4 years’ work experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software
Preferred qualifications:
- 2-5 years of relevant post-education experience
- Proficiency with AutoCAD civil 3D
- Experience with HydroCAD, Hydraflow, and/or similar software
- Engineering in Training (EIT) Certification
