Steindler Orthopedic Clinic, one of the most respected and established orthopedic groups in the Midwest, is seeking a Physiatrist or Family Medicine Sports Physician to join our growing practice in Burlington, Iowa

SUMMARY

We are seeking a highly skilled, patient-focused, dynamic, team-orientated and compassionate Physiatrist or Family Medicine Sports Physician to join our dedicated team. The ideal candidate will specialize in physical medicine and rehabilitation, with a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care and advancing the field of orthopedic medicine. Our team is committed to continuous improvement and innovative care solutions, empowering patients to return to active lifestyles as quickly and safely as possible.
 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

· Serve as the primary access point for non-operative musculoskeletal (MSK) patients in the Burlington clinic (minimum 2.5 days per week) and at Steindler’s other outreach locations located in southern eastern Iowa. 

· Provide non-opioid management of chronic pain patients and perform joint injections under ultrasound guidance.

· Diagnose and treat illnesses or injuries affecting physical functioning.

· Develop and implement individualized treatment and rehabilitation plans.

· Coordinate with physical therapists, occupational therapists, and neurologists to provide multidisciplinary care.

· Perform procedures such as spinal injections and nerve conduction studies.

· Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including X-rays, MRIs, and electromyography.

· Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.

· Participate in community outreach and educational initiatives to promote orthopedic health.

· Stay current with advancements in orthopedic care and adopt innovative technologies.

Requirements

  QUALIFICATIONS

· Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.

· Board certification in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) or Family Medicine with a Sports Medicine fellowship.

· Active Iowa Medical License or eligibility for licensure.

· Strong MSK skills, including spine diagnosis and treatment.

· Ability to perform ultrasound-guided injections for peripheral joints and preferably peripheral nerves.

· Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.

· Preferred but not required: Experience in EMG, regenerative medicine, percutaneous needle tenotomy (PNT), headache care, and Botox administration.
