SUMMARY
The Technician I will be trained to perform preventative maintenance and repairs on ground support equipment and stationary equipment such as loading bridges, stationary air conditioning units, baggage conveyor systems, ground power units, and other equipment in a safe, accurate, and timely manner.
JOB DUTIES
The following functions may be performed in variable weather and environmental conditions such as jet engine fumes, dust, or jet engine noise:
- Trained to inspect, service, troubleshoot, repair, replace, and overhaul ground support equipment and components such as chassis, body, and drive-train components.
- Ability to learn electrical and hydraulic schematics.
- Perform preventative and routine maintenance such as oil changes, replacing/adding coolant and fluids, brake and tire changes, etc. on-ground equipment.
- Perform minor repair of ground support equipment such as carburetors, starter motors, alternators, batteries, radiators, hydraulic drive components, and diesel engines under supervison.
- Operate vehicles to be repaired by driving, towing, or pushing the vehicle into the service bay.
- Ensure tools and equipment are maintained in an effective, safe working condition.
- Report any safety violation, machining equipment misusage, and/or properly performed work to supervisor or lead.
- Responsible for complying with the rules and regulations set forth by federal, local, and state governments, Mercury GSE, and HSE Procedures.
- Keep work area clean and free of any safety hazards.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or requested. Mercury GSE reserves the right to add or change duties at any time.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma?or GED
- 2+ years experience in heavy diesel vehicle experience preferred
- Possess knowledge of theories of systems operation
- Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving history
- Valid ASE certification or other Diesel certification is a plus
- Must be able to secure proper airport authority security badges
