In this role, you’ll apply your DevOps expertise to drive the automation and optimization of development and operational workflows, contributing to mission-driven projects that have a significant impact on public services and national priorities. As a DevOps Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring efficient, secure, and scalable engineering solutions. You will collaborate closely with the Program Technical Lead and product delivery team to streamline deployment processes, enhance system reliability, and maintain high-quality deliverables.

Location:
- Remote with potential infrequent travel to Client site.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of DevOps pipelines and infrastructure to support continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) in compliance with government security standards.
- Collaborate with software developers, system administrators, and other stakeholders to streamline development, deployment, and operational processes.
- Automate provisioning, configuration, monitoring, and scaling of infrastructure and applications using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
- Ensure systems are built and maintained in alignment with federal compliance frameworks such as FISMA, NIST RMF, or FedRAMP.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve performance, scalability, and reliability issues across development and production environments.
- Develop and enforce DevOps best practices, including version control, branching strategies, and release management.
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and ensure robust security practices are integrated into all stages of the DevOps lifecycle.
- Oversee containerization efforts using Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes to manage microservices and applications.
- Maintain documentation for processes, workflows, and configurations to ensure consistency and knowledge sharing across teams.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and technical guidance to DevOps team members, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
- Evaluate and implement emerging DevOps tools, technologies, and methodologies to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
- Prepare and deliver reports and presentations on DevOps metrics, system health, and improvement initiatives to government stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in DevOps engineering or related roles
- Demonstrated expertise in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for complex systems.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, particularly in government-regulated environments.
- Proven ability to implement and maintain systems in compliance with federal standards (e.g., FISMA, NIST RMF, FedRAMP).
- Proficiency in IaC tools such as Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, or Puppet.
- Strong knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with version control systems like Git and DevOps tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or CircleCI.
- In-depth understanding of network protocols, system architecture, and secure coding practices.
Nice to Haves:
- Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, or Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) are highly preferred.
