Housekeeping Supervisor

POSITION SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Director of Hospitality Services, Hospitality Services Supervisor maintains a clean and comfortable environment in all accommodations, meeting spaces, program facilities, and public areas. 


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Full time, part time, volunteer and summer employees assigned to them.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Maintain and run operating reports from Maestro system on room status and needs daily as well as clear and mark room status and run both end of day and emergency reports. 

  1. Enter work orders in Facility Dude and report      all safety issues to the Hospitality Services Director or Maintenance      Director.
  2. Train new employees in proper procedures,      safety items and guest room amenities.
  3. Oversee and work with staff on all assigned      tasks.
  4. Perform room cleanliness inspections and relay      areas of concern to the staff assigned to specified area. Utilize coaching      and training to ensure issues are resolved and prevented in the future.
  5. Supervise and take part in daily cleaning of      all public areas, including lobbies and restrooms.
  6. Assist with laundry, washing, drying, folding      and storing neatly. Prepare for changeovers of rooms and cottages.
  7. Check and assist with cleaning and keeping      closets well stocked for their routes, meeting spaces, staff restrooms and      public restrooms.
  8. Assist with the shutting down of buildings and      meeting spaces as well as deep cleaning during slower periods of the      year. This includes making sure      that the heat in each room or building is set at the proper temperature      depending on the status of the room.
  9. Clean assigned staff bathrooms 6 days week in      the summer season and as needed in the shoulder season.
  10. Practices safe chemical usage and      ensures minors do not use chemicals in their duties.
  11. Maintains clean and clutter-free      areas on assigned route and hospitality services staff area.
  12. Performs other duties, as requested by the      Hospitality Director
  13. As a 24-hour operation,      all staff may be asked to work weekends, evenings, night shifts and/or      holidays to serve our members, guests, and program participants.
Requirements

  

· 1 year or more previous experience in a supervisory role, preferably in a housekeeping role.

· High school degree or equivalent is required.

· A valid driver’s license is required. 

· Ability to interpret oral and written informational data is required. 

· Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse groups of people representing all social and economic segments of the community.

· Excellent customer service skills and the ability to enforce rules in a professional and positive manner is a must.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 

This position requires the ability to walk, pull, push, sit, bend, or stand for prolonged periods of time. Other physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 25 pounds.

Salary Description
$17.15 - $18.50
