St. Gabriel Catholic Church is seeking a director to manage its Early Childhood Learning Center’s day-to-day operation and provide supervision, encouragement and guidance for each staff person. The director will aid in program and staff needs, assists in the development and implementation of procedures to attend to those needs. Ensures that all guidelines and criteria of Non-Public Accreditation, and other stakeholders are followed. Ensures a safe and educational environment for young children. This is a full-time position based on a 40-hour work week.
Essential Job Functions:
- Responsible for the overall direction and coordination of the St. Gabriel Childhood Learning Center (ECLC).
- Maintain high quality childcare standards based on developmentally appropriate practices.
- See that the virtues of the Catholic Faith permeate the classroom, playrooms and recess activities.
- Incorporate in the ECLC the values of the Catholic Church and model the faith within the ECLC community.
- Recruit, interview, hire, train, and supervise all staff members of the Child Care staff team to carry out St. Gabriel Montessori’s philosophy of childcare requirements. All this in coordination with the Principal.
- Plan, develop, schedule and/or provide in-service training and staff evaluations quarterly.
- Maintain current records on each child in accordance with licensure requirements.
- Monitor child/staff ratio and take action to balance staff available to children and their needs.
- Organization and implementation of childcare waiting lists to ensure smooth transition for staff and new families at the center. Maintain comprehensive communication and effective communication with faculty and staff.
- Maintain open, consistent, and effective communication with parents, providing parent education training, assistance and support as needed.
- Ensures that facilities and equipment are safe and maintained in compliance with accreditation requirements. Reports needed repairs, replacements, and additions to the Director of Facilities and principal.
- Works with principal monitoring personnel such as Accreditation, Sanitation, and Fire Safety. Reports findings to the Director of Facilities and Operations Director immediately.
- Participates in monthly fire drills and quarterly tornado drills as required by accreditation.
- Maintain accreditation status by adhering to guidelines.

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or related experience, Master’s preferred.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in early childhood education.
- Practicing Catholic with ethical standards, personal integrity, and conduct consistent with the morals and teachings of the Catholic Church.
