Summary/Objective: Provide basic medical and nursing care. Ensure the comfort of patients, discuss health care with patients, and report status of patients to registered nurses and providers.
Essential Functions
· Calculates medication dosages according to body weight, administers and documents medication as prescribed by the ordering physician.
· Applies principles of the child’s growth and development in his/her daily clinical practice.
· Identifies, assumes and plans for the educational needs of the parents and families.
· Identifies and evaluates the patient and family needs by way of telephone triage.
· Recognizes and responds appropriately to pediatric emergencies.
· Adheres to Nursing policy and procedures when documenting information in the patient’s medical record
LPN Specialist requirements are:
Required Education and Experience: Must be a graduate of an accredited school of Practical Nursing. Must possess active Florida license as a Licensed Practical Nurse. CPR and PALS certification.
Preferred Education and Experience: Experience or training in a medical health care facility as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Pedicatric Experience preferred.
Medical Assistant Specialist Requirements are:
Required Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED. Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or 1 year of Medical Assistant work experience within the last 2 years. Medical Assistant Certification must be obtained within 90 days of employment. Current BLS certification or to be completed within first 90 days of employment
Additional Qualification: 1 Year experience in primary care setting. Current BLS certification or to be completed within three months of employment. Pediatrics experience preferred.
