Position Title: Senior Business Intelligence Mechatronics Engineer
Location: Uxbridge, MA
Potential Earnings: $90,000 - $120,000
Position Summary:
Sr. Business Intelligence (BI) Mechatronics Engineer has a pivotal role in bridging the gap between data insights and engineering solutions to optimize our automation systems. Utilizing BI tools and workflow, specific duties include:
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Implement BI tools (PowerBI, Tableau, Qlik, or Jdox) for data analysis, warehousing, and visualization to inform engineering decisions.
- Utilize prototyping tools (Figma, Adobe XD) to create interactive dashboards that effectively communicate data insights for informed decision-making.
- Develop machine learning models (R, Python, MATLAB) for classification, clustering, and anomaly detection to optimize mechatronic system performance.
- Design sensor-based data collection mechanisms within SCADA systems for real-time performance metrics.
- Perform feasibility studies and risk assessments (cost-benefit analysis, decision trees, simulations) using R, Python, or MATLAB to evaluate engineering solutions.
- Employ advanced statistical analysis (hypothesis testing, regression, time series) to identify patterns and drive decision-making.
- Utilize SQL for data collection, cleaning, analysis, and report/dashboard generation to unlock business insights.
- Utilize market research software and business intelligence tools to analyze market trends, competitor strategies, and customer needs to identify opportunities for mechatronic system applications.
Qualifications Include:
- Minimum requirements are a Bachelor’s in Mechatronics, Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field and a master's in business administration, Business Analytics, Engineering Management, or a related field and four years of experience, post-Bachelors.
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst or similar role.
- Professional certifications such as CBAP or PMI-PBA are desirable.
- Business intelligence analysis, data modeling, and visualization.
- Use of data visualization tools (PowerBI, Tableau, Qlik, or Jdox) and prototyping tools (Figma, Adobe XD)
- Work with data querying languages (SQL), scripting languages (Python), and advanced statistical/mathematical software (e.g. R, SAS, or MATLAB)
- Use of mechatronics principles and experience with designing and implementing automation systems with SCADA systems.
Skills & Abilities:
- Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau, Power BI).
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Solid understanding of business processes, systems, and operations.
- Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and adapt to a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Experience with Agile methodologies and project management tools is a plus.
