Description
JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for preparing CCAA financial statements, maintaining and reporting federal funding, auditing projects and other accounting projects as needed. Support the Director of Finance with special projects, financial reports/schedules, and many other tasks. Tasks include maintaining the accounting for capital projects, fixed assets, and the new lease software system. This position reports to the Director of Finance.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Processes and posts journal entries for routine transactions in the enterprise accounting system and ensures accuracy of the General Ledger.
- Prepares supporting schedules for specific general ledger accounts. Analyzes and reconciles specified balance sheet accounts monthly.
- Maintain the fixed asset register and calculate depreciation; prepare financial reports summarizing fixed asset activity.
- Maintains capital projects.
- Perform financial analysis as appropriate to support risk assessment and inform decision making; analyzes revenue and expenses for anomalies in financial reports and prepares dashboard summary of activities; processes net position, and statistical data; and prepares quarterly reports for non-operating revenue sources.
- Assists with the calculation of rates and charges based on budgetary guidelines and issues appropriate debits and credits; and posts accruals and journal entries based on GL account analysis and reconciliations.
- Support month-end and year-end financial close process to include preparation of audit schedules and financial statement reports.
- Assist with the annual operating and capital budget process to include preparation of revenue and enplanement activity forecasts, rates and charges pro-forma calculation and forecasted cash flows.
- Develop and update financial models to analyze profitability, and cash flow tracking along with analyzing key performance indicators.
- Process and maintain the grant program. This would include the calculating and filing for grant applications, close applications and track grant funding. Other tasks may be included in this process.
- Communicates with Aviation Authority officials, supervisor, other employees, clients, tenants, vendors, third party service contractors, the public, and other individuals as needed to coordinate work activities, review status of work, exchange information, or resolve problems.
- Operates or uses various equipment and supplies to complete work assignments operate a personal computer to enter, retrieve, review or modify data, utilizing word processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation, Internet, e-mail, or other software; and operates general office or other equipment as necessary to complete essential functions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution.
- Five (5) years’ experience in a related field of work.
- Or equivalent training, education, and/or experience.
Specific License or Certification Required:
- Valid South Carolina driver’s license.
