This role will manage student accounts receivable and student loans (“SCL”) by working cross-functionally with Accounting and Student A/R teams as well as with our 3rd party loan service providers.
Responsibilities
- Gain a thorough understanding of current process around A/R and SCLs. Create and maintain documentation around the processes and assumptions
- Monitor and validate processes to ensure compliance
- Ensure policies and processes for A/R and SCLs are being followed. Identify any gaps in the current process and suggest improvements as appropriate
- Support the A/R team via developing a strategy to regularly monitor and improve collections
- Act as a central point of communication for 3rd party loan service provider and internal staff regarding program management
- Assist in cash flow forecasting as it relates to timing of cash inflows from various sources related to A/R
- Analyze current collection rates for A/R and SCLs; develop understanding of what drives these collection rates; propose process changes that can improve these rates
- Analyze and interpret trends requiring Leadership’s attention
- Collaborate with internal teams and 3rd parties to resolve any issues that may impact collections
- Prepare regular reports to stakeholders and provide analysis to Leadership
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in Accounting or Financial Analysis Role
- Self-motivated and organized – a high degree of comfort managing multiple stakeholders; strong collaboration and teamwork skills; and a problem-solver oriented toward achieving results
- Excellent skills in written and oral communication
- Ability to work with multiple systems and pull raw data from multiple sources in order to analyze
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills required
- SQL knowledge a plus (not required)
