ROLE ACCOUNTABILITY:
- Verify compliance of our food safety programs to the FSSC 22000 standard, taking the appropriate actions when non-compliances are identified.
- Perform any quality, regulatory functions, or unrelated functions as requested by leadership.
- Assist in developing quality improvement measures to provide us an ongoing, competitive advantage.
- Work collaboratively with production personnel and the QA Lead to make decisions that are best for the organization.
- Perform monthly Good Manufacturing Practice audits entering results into a GMP database.
- Report issues with regards to the Food Safety Management System (FSMS) to the Director of Quality Assurance or executive leadership team and adhere to the requirements of the FSMS.
- Doing what is necessary to ensure “World Class” quality standards of our entire lines of products.
- Doing what is necessary to ensure that our client and civic regulatory responsibilities are fulfilled.
- Proactively and continuously maintain an unassailable “first line of defense” food safety system.
- Perform verification of sanitation activities and facilitate corrective and preventive action as necessary.
- Perform environmental monitoring and facilitate research investigations for unfavorable results.

SUCCESS FACTOR SNAPSHOT:
First 30 days:
- Develop an intimate understanding of our organization mission, culture, department, team, products, and role expectations.
- Develop an intimate knowledge of the organizational food safety and food quality plans.
First 90 days:
- Develop a complete knowledge base of the FSSC 22000 Standard.
First 120 days:
- Verify compliance of food safety programs to the FSSC 22000 standard, taking the appropriate actions when non-compliances are identified.
Ongoing:
- Work collaboratively with production personnel and the QA Lead to make decisions that are best for the organization.
- Identify opportunities for improvement in the areas of food safety and quality and facilitate the implementation of those efforts.
- Be a strong advocate for food safety and product quality.
- Report issues with regards to the Food Safety Management System (FSMS) to the Director of Quality Assurance or executive leadership team and adhere to the requirements of the FSMS.
OTHER:

Education: Associate degree or higher, preferably food safety, food science, microbiology, or related, required.
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years Quality/Regulatory experience preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft and GSuite applications, including Excel.
- ERP experience preferred.
- Must feel “at home” in a refrigerated, multi-cultural, meat-processing environment.
- Must be able to be on your feet all day and repeatedly lift at least 40 pounds.
- Food and/or meat industry experience a plus.
- Must possess advanced computer communications, organizational and public speaking skills.
