Essential Functions
· Works from blueprints, sketches, and charts.
· Prepares bills of materials required for jobs to be performed.
· Selects tools and materials most suitable for job.
· Sets up and operates wood working tools and equipment as required to cut, finish, and form materials for the job.
· Uses variety of hand tools to form, fabricate, finish, erect, dismantle, repair and refinish structures and equipment.
· Install and replace broken glass.
· Erects scaffolds and safety barriers.
· Prepares surfaces for painting and applies paint by brush or spray.
· Constructs forms, reinforces, pours and finishes concrete. Repairs brick and block and sewer pipe.
· Stencils signs. Maintains paint and materials stock, cleans and stores equipment after use.
· Sandblast surface with portable equipment as required.
· Makes minor adjustments and repairs to power tools. Sharpens and maintains hand tools.
· Keeps the working area in a clean and orderly condition.
· May perform simple self-service type maintenance on transportation vehicles.
· Repairs and installs insulation on lines, valves, vessels, instruments and other plant equipment.
· Transports materials and equipment as needed by truck or scooter.
· Performs ordinary rigging as necessary.
· Cut, form, install and repair heating and air conditioning duct work.
· Installs insulating brick and tile in boilers and kilns.
· Remove asbestos insulation and use decontamination equipment and safety equipment.
· Perform all tasks per job safe practices and adhere to the rules of conduct.
Highschool diploma or equivalent
At least 2 years of previous work experience in the field or related
