Specific Responsibilities
Obsidian Solutions Group (OSG) is seeking a Modeling and Simulation Lead to collaborate with a team of analysts in the research, creation, modeling, and analysis of military systems to quantify the performance and impact of operational concepts and tactics. Utilizes knowledge of model-based system engineering (MBSE) to perform analysis to support requirements definition, mission effectiveness, system evaluation, and military utility assessment for a broad spectrum of missions including combat air, intelligence-surveillance-reconnaissance, and air mobility. The Modeling and Simulation Lead reports to and receives work direction from the MSTP Exercise Section Lead.
The mission of the MSTP is to provide training in MAGTF operations across the range of military operations, within the context of a Joint and/or Combined Task Force environment, to improve the warfighting skills, with the main effort of providing training and support.
Required Skills/Qualifications
- Capable of managing the following constructive simulations: the MAGTF Tactical Warfare Simulation (MTWS), Joint Semi-Automated Forces (JSAF), Joint Deployment Logistics Model (JDLM), and Air Space Cyberspace Constructive Environment - Information Operations Suite (ACE-IOS), the Airwarfare Simulation (AWSIM) and the Virtual Battlefield Simulation VBS-3/4.
- Capable of managing the above simulations in as a standalone simulation or as an element of the Joint Live Virtual constructive (JLVC) Federation.
- Provide subject matter expertise of multiple simulations and federations, to include constructing Parametric Data, Order of Battle (OOB), Equipment Density List (EDL), and Table of Organization (TO) that replicate functional capabilities across Warfighting functions and spanning all Echelons of command.
- Possess recent and relevant proficiency in the use and operation of C2 systems
- Able to attend conferences and meetings on site and off site;
- Able to co-lead M&S Working Groups as part of an exercise design team during exercise planning conferences
- Capable of translating customer military training objectives into simulation requirements.
- Directly engages MEF/MEB/DIV/MAW/MLG level training audiences to capture TO&E for amalgamation into the exercise database.
- Able to adjusts work hours as necessary to support extended work hours in support of 12 to 24-hour continuous operations during events.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, required. Master's degree preferred.
- 10+ years of proven and relevant experience in developing and implementing models and simulations.
- Strong knowledge of modeling and simulation tools and techniques.
- Proficient in MS Office products, including Word, Excel, Outlook in addition to Adobe.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong leadership skills and ability to manage a team.

- 25-35%, mainly to Camp Pendleton, CA; Camp Lejeune, NC; Camp Courtney, Okinawa, JP
