Description

We are seeking skilled Seamstresses to join our Sewing & Assembly Team. In this role, you will be responsible for assembling, sewing, and finishing high-quality marine textile components, such as boat upholstery, covers, and enclosures. You will work as part of a team to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and consistency in production while maintaining high standards of craftsmanship.


Key Responsibilities:

• Operate industrial sewing machines, including Juki Single Needle and ABM Quilter 5432, to assemble and stitch materials for marine applications.

• Follow patterns, blueprints, and specifications to ensure precise sewing and assembly.

• Conduct quality checks to ensure all stitched products meet marine durability standards.

• Work with team members and the Sewing/Assembly Manager to complete daily production goals.

• Adjust machine settings as needed to accommodate different materials and designs.

• Perform minor maintenance on sewing machines, such as threading and replacing needles.

• Assist in cutting, folding, packaging, and preparing finished products for shipment.

• Maintain a clean and organized workspace, following safety and 5S principles.


Requirements

Qualifications & Skills:

• Previous experience as a seamstress, sewing machine operator, or textile worker preferred.

• Ability to operate Juki Single Needle and ABM Quilter 5432 machines (or willingness to learn).

• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.

• Basic understanding of fabric types, sewing techniques, and stitching methods.

• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.

• Good hand-eye coordination and dexterity for precise stitching.

• Team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.  

• Bachelor's degree is a strong plus, but not a requirement with applicable experience. 


Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit and operate a sewing machine for extended periods.

• Ability to lift and move materials as needed (up to 25 lbs).

• Good vision and attention to fine details.

This new role will be based at a facility in Greenville, SC, rather than at the Freeman headquarters in Charleston.
