Electrical Maintenance Mechanic

Job Summary:

The Electrical Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing plant equipment with regards to electronic components and programming.

Duties/Responsibilities:

· Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair plant equipment involving checking voltages, changing out bad components, switching out gauges, as well as making camera and software adjustments.

· Program PLCs and diagnose machine faults/failures related to CNC, Servo, AC Motion Controls, related electronic components. 

· Performs preventive maintenance inspections and service on machines.

· Identifies the causes of unexpected breakdowns of machines.

· Repairs broken machines quickly and efficiently.

· Prepares reports documenting work performed.

· Cleans, organizes, inventories, stocks, and otherwise maintains shop areas, parts, tools, and supplies. 

· Identifying faults or hazards.

· Troubleshooting system failures.

· Reviewing blueprints to understand wiring placement.

· Testing of electrical systems with oscilloscopes, voltmeters, and ohmmeters.

· Responding to fault requests.

· Research and recommend machine control upgrades to address outdated controls.

Required Skills/Abilities: 

· Knowledge of electronics

· Understanding of schematics and program reading

· Knowledgeable in a variety of machine software

· Basic algebraic mathematical ability 

· Understanding of standard to metric conversions

· Excellent oral and written language ability 

· Ability to follow step-by-step procedures.

· Works well independently and with others.

· Good communication skills.

· Organized with attention to detail.

· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. 

Education and Experience:

· Associate’s Degree in Electronics curriculum preferred

· 2-5 years of experience troubleshooting electronic controls in a manufacturing setting

Physical Requirements: 

· Prolonged periods standing and walking.

· Able to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to reach, clean, and service machinery.

· Must be able to visually inspect machines.

· Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
