Cosmetic Injection Specialist & Medical Aesthetician


Job Type: Non-Exempt, Full Time

Description:

This position is a full-time job that provides medical grade services to help clients looking to enhance their appearance. This position requires specialized training and experience as a cosmetic injector as well as a certified laser technician to provide aesthetic and cosmetic services and care to patients.

Requirements

Education and Background:

  • Current and valid Nurse Practitioner (NP), Physician Assistant (PA), or Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Louisiana.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in aesthetic industry with a strong proficiency in dermal injectable treatments (particularly maxillofacial relaxants) and laser skin treatment.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and provide excellent patient care.
  • Keen attention to detail, infection control practices, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and sterile environment during procedures.

Temperament:

  • Prefers detail-oriented work.  
  • Personable – have a pleasant personality and appearance.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conducts thorough consultations to assess patients’ needs, educate them on available treatments, and develop personalized treatment plans.
  • Educates patients about pre and post treatment care, expected outcomes, and potential side effects, ensuring their informed consent.
  • Administers a variety of injectable treatments, including maxillofacial muscle relaxants (such as BOTOX), and potentially dermal fillers (if licensed and experienced), as well as other cosmetic enhancements, ensuring precision and safety.
  • Maintains accurate and confidential patient records, documenting treatment details, progress, and any adverse reactions.
  • Stays updated on the latest trends, techniques, and advancements in aesthetics through ongoing training and professional development.
  • Assists with promotions, specials, and events as needed.
  • Maintains a clean, neat and safe environment.
  • Complies with OSHA/HIPAA requirements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to do prolonged standing and sitting. 
  • Ability to walk, stretch, sit, reach, stoop and bend. 
  • Ability to work in cramped environment.
  • Must be able to lift, push and pull at least 25 pounds up to 50 pounds.

 Abilities:

  • Ability to read, understand and follow oral and written policies and regulations. 
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees and the public. 

Environmental/Working Conditions:

  • Normal office environment.   
  • Must be able to do prolonged sitting
  • Must be able to work independent and as a team player
  • The incumbent works directly with patients in a patient care area and/or works with specimens that could contain diseases. There may be an occupational risk for exposure to all communicable diseases.
  • Because the incumbent works within a healthcare setting, there may be occupational risk for exposure to hazardous medications or hazardous waste within the environment through receipt, transport, storage, preparation, dispensing, administration, cleaning and/or disposal of contaminated waste. The risk level of exposure may increase depending on the essential job duties of the role.
