GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Budget Accountant at Whitney Young Health assists with managing and analyzing financial budgets, preparing monthly, quarterly and annual department reports with all supporting documents.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare and maintain financial budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses.
- Monitor budget performance and provide insights on financial trends.
- Reconcile budget discrepancies and resolve any issues promptly.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual department reports with all supporting documents.
- Assist CFO and Director of Accounting for budget process and upload the final approved budget to the system.
- Support the finance team with financial analysis and projects as needed.
- Covers the job for the finance activities in the absence of Account and Grant Accountant such as depositing cash and checks, posting journal entries and gathering monthly grant spending.
- Demonstrates excellence in both internal and external customer service.
- Understands and is able to effectively communicate HIPAA compliance, corporate compliance and client confidentiality.
- Ensures and/or remains in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Adheres to the National Patient Safety Goals as defined by the Joint Commission and the Whitney M. Young Jr. Health Center.
- Completes other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field with one (1) year of business related experience; has practical skills using Microsoft Office tools; including MS Word and Excel.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience with Sage Intacct, Paylocity, Yooz Purchase System, and Health care management experience is a plus.

Salary Range: $28.00 - $30.00 hourly
