Description

The High School Spanish Teacher will be responsible for teaching courses in Spanish through engaging lessons. The teacher should have a strong understanding of subject-specific content and instructional strategies, fostering critical thinking and leveraging technology to enhance the learning experience. S/he will stay current with educational research, maintain effective communication with students, parents, and colleagues, and promote a positive classroom environment. Professional development and a passion for language will be key to inspiring students and ensuring academic success.


Requirements


  • Instruct and engage students through diverse teaching methods to enhance student comprehension.
  • Prepare students academically and in character for college and life-long success.
  • Develop course objectives and outlines following curriculum guidelines or state and school requirements.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust instruction as needed to ensure success.
  • Administer tests, record results, and develop progress reports for parents.
  • Maintain classroom standards, keep attendance records, ensure discipline, assign lessons, and correct homework promptly.
  • Communicate regularly with families as partners in education.
  • Participate in faculty meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops.
  • Sponsor student activities or organizations and counsel students on academic issues.
  • Provide collaborative support to teachers, staff, and parents.
  • Demonstrate critical thinking, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Maintain attention to detail, accuracy, timely implementation, and quality performance.
  • Exhibit honesty, integrity, discretion, and sound judgment.
  • Meet high professional standards of behavior and dress. 
  • Attend all HS Administrative meetings.
  • Perform other duties as requested by High School Administrators or Head of School.


The Christian Academy of Knoxville (CAK) teacher must be a spiritually sensitive individual who understands the mission and philosophy of the school. The teacher must be a born-again Christian with spiritual maturity and the academic and leadership abilities necessary to teach God’s truth. Skills in effective communication with diverse individuals, appropriate handling of confidential information, and maintaining a courteous, professional, and respectful attitude, along with integrity in all situations, are prerequisites.
