Purpose / Summary of Position:
HPI is seeking a Sr. Payroll and Corporate Accountant. This position will provide support, review and reporting for multiple sets of financials monthly as well as manage the payroll processing, working closely with HR, through Paylocity.
This position is an essential role at HPI and will assist the company’s accounting and payroll department.
Priority functions / Responsibilities:
- Process payroll information, including making adjustments, preparing tax information and allocating benefits.
- Knowledge of payroll laws, policies, procedures, garnishments and benefits distribution.
- Attending to and resolving pay-related queries.
- Ensure employees are paid accurately and timely.
- Review quarter and annual Payroll reports/taxes to ensure compliance.
- Prepare quarterly payroll related reconciliations.
- Prepare bank reconciliations.
- Post recurring monthly journal entries and log schedules for tax and insurance.
- Assists with Accounting reports, including financial statements, and various reports.
- Gather financial data and ledgers.
- Prepare reports for upper management, finance department etc.
- Consolidate and analyze financial statements and results.
- Review and create budget and monthly forecasts.
- Monitor expenditures.
- Handle monthly, quarterly and annual closings.
- Manage periodical reporting.
- Create and document procedures and training.
- Other projects requested by management.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- 5+ years of accounting and payroll work experience.
- Bachelor’s degree. Experience can offset degree.
- Payroll certifications – not limited to CPP, FPC, CPM
- Detail orientated.
- Ability to allocate expenses across multiple entities and Real Estate Portfolio.
- Ability to work as a team member.
- Ability to multi-task and can be trusted with sensitive information.
- Analytical thinking.
- Computer skills; Excel, Yardi, QuickBooks, and Paylocity preferred.
- Oral and written communication skills
