Description
Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree (Preferably in Curriculum & Instruction or Content Specific)
- Minimum of five years of successful teaching experience, and a minimum of three years of successful experience as a school or district level coach
- Certified by the State of Tennessee
- Meets the health and physical requirements
Essential Functions:
- Oversees the development and maintenance of the total system-wide Elementary level instructional programs,
K-12
- Plans and directs curriculum improvement activities, pilot programs, and special projects at the system-wide level;
- Provides assistance to and coordinates activities with instructional supervisors;
- Assists principals, curriculum coordinators, and other certification personnel in developing instructional programs consistent with system goals and objectives;
- Oversees evaluative procedures for instructional programs, K-12;
- Makes monthly status reports of all programs related to curriculum and instruction to the CAO
- Makes budgetary recommendations to the CAO
- Assists in planning and coordinating state-federal projects relating to the instructional program;
- Coordinates the development of curriculum guidelines and other related materials for K-12;
- Coordinates summer curriculum development activities with K-5 instructional supervisors;
- Coordinates with the Director of Schools for a smooth transition of elementary, and special education curriculum;
- Oversees and evaluates the integration of technology as a tool for instruction and learning in all schools, K-12;
- Performs such other duties as assigned by the CAO
Physical Demands:
This job may require lifting of objects that exceed 25 lbs., with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 lbs.
