POSITION SUMMARY: 

Assist members with Challenge Course equipment by belaying climbers and creating a safe and fun environment. Provide proper supervision, information, training, and supervision of the Challenge Course at Camp Tracy’s day camp. Provide the Sr. Ropes Course Specialist with assistance as needed.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Ensure the safety of all patrons & members; remedy all unsafe practices or conditions immediately.
  • Apply the Challenge Course policies and procedures at all times.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of at least 10 Field/Icebreaker/Challenge games.
  • Demonstrate and instruct proper spotting techniques.
  • Inspect, issue, and maintain Challenge Course equipment; document unsafe equipment and remove it from the inventory to be repaired or replaced.
  • Demonstrate good judgment on group dynamics.
  • Provide first aid in emergency situations.
  • Assist in the Management of the ropes course logbook and maintain compliance with American Camp Association (ACA) standards.
Requirements

 KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

  • Certified in standard first aid and CPR
  • Knowledge of climbing, rope care, and maintenance
  • Extreme attention to detail and safety needed
  • Must be 18 years old or older

EXPERIENCE:

  • Belaying experience with ATC or GriGri
  • Experience working with children and supervising staff

WORK SCEHDULE: Seasonal / Monday-Friday: 8:00am-4:00pm 

Salary Description
$113.00 per day
