Description

Sunflower Bank, N.A. is looking for an energetic, highly motivated individual to fill the full-time position of Technology Lending Associate in Dallas, TX. The Technology Lending Associate provides ongoing portfolio management of existing credit portfolios; financial reporting, borrowing base requests, quarterly/annual compliance, annual reviews, modifications, and amendments. This position serves as the second point of contact on all credits in the credit portfolio – addressing ad hoc requests/questions from Borrower’s and Agent Bank’s (in syndicated situations). The Technology Lending Associate will play a key role in evaluating new transactions, managing the underwriting processes, closing mandated transactions, ongoing monitoring of all credits, and sourcing new transactions and opportunities for the Bank. 

  • Perform the initial screening of new transactions. 
  • Create a diligence request/questions list in preparation for introductory calls. 
  • Formulate and correspond with prospective clients in gathering all diligence materials. 
  • Lead the preparation of the Large Dollar Call screening memo. 
  • Responsible for engaging and guiding the underwriting process for new transactions.
  • Assist Team Lead in the preparation of preliminary IOIs and term sheets. 
  • Direct communication with the credit department to ensure transactions are staying timely and ongoing management of the underwriting process for the LOB. 
  • Play a key role in the formulation and editing of credit packages, working hand in hand with the PM to fine-tune all credit product work 
  • Administer the preparation and negotiation of legal documentation as well as coordinate a direct line of contact with the Loan Doc Review team. 
  • Participate in calling efforts (introductory calls with new sponsors, breakfast/lunch/coffee appointments). 
  • Responsible for organizing the shared drive in a uniform manner and ensuring that each file is consistently up to date. 
  • Responsible for keeping all nCino related items/inputs up to date and organized. Will serve as the direct “subject expert” for all nCino related tasks/projects
  • Assist the SRA’s in collecting KYC items for the closing process as well as assisting Treasury Management in running their process on opening new accounts. 
  • Maintain a direct line of communication with SRA’s in regard to upcoming closings, and any related tasks. Communicate with SRA daily. 
  • Responsible for uploading all reporting requirements to nCino and saving them into the shared drive. Includes clearing exceptions and ensuring past dues/ticklers are satisfied in a timely manner. 
  • Participate in all credit conversations and be expected to present certain credits to the credit committee. 


Education / Experience Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Mathematics or Statistics with a minimum of 12 semester hours of Accounting; Master’s Degree or MBA preferred.
  • Three to five years of commercial banking experience including portfolio management and underwriting experience. 
  • Ability to sell effectively to prospects and clients.
  • Formal credit training such as RMA or Regional or State Banking School preferred.
  • Must possess strong leadership and strategic management skills.
  • Well-developed analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Must possess excellent verbal, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Excel and Word specifically. 
  • Must be able to work flexible hours.

Pay is dependent on knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, and location.
