IT Support Technician

McClure Engineering is searching for an IT Support Technician to join our business operations team!

Key Responsibilities:  
• Provide first-level IT support, including resolving printer connectivity issues, software installation errors, and desktop support issues.

• Ensure all systems are up-to-date with the latest security patches, virus definitions, and system updates.
• Track and document all support activities within our ticketing system (web.tikit.ai), ensuring all tickets are addressed and escalated when needed.
• Install, configure, and maintain IT equipment, including laptops, printers, mobile devices, and monitors. 

• Provide training and support to employees on new software and functionalities. 

• Manage technical equipment inventory and assess needs quarterly.
• Lead the onboarding of new employees by imaging and deploying devices and manage offboarding activities by disabling and securely wiping technology.
• Perform administrative tasks such as password resets and user account management.
• Collaborate with third-party vendors to resolve complex technical issues as necessary. 


Required Qualifications and Credentials:

• Minimum of 2 years in a desktop support role within a corporate office or engineering firm environment, supporting a wide range of devices and technologies.
• Proficiency with Office 365 Admin Center, Microsoft Entra, Teams Admin, Meraki System Manager, and patch management using Automox. Solid understanding of PowerShell, Active Directory and Print Servers.
• Able to take ownership of issues, see them through to resolution, or escalate as needed.
• Learn quickly, follow directions, and ask questions when something does not make sense.
• Capacity to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
• Ability to take initiative to learn about new business and technical solutions and help improve processes and workflows.
• Experience with Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Revit, Deltek Vantagepoint or other industry applications is a plus.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to quickly troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on clear documentation and effective user support.
• Skilled at managing and prioritizing multiple inbound support requests, ensuring timely and efficient resolutions.  

• Knowledge of security best practices to safeguard the organization's IT infrastructure and data. 

• Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V)

• Capable of engaging in physical activities such as climbing, kneeling, crouching and lifting up to 50 lbs


Education and Experience
• Associate degree in computer science or related field, or comparable experience.
• Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+ or Network+ are preferred
