The Horizons Colorado at Colorado Academy (HCCA) program seeks an SEL Curriculum Coordinator for our elementary and middle school programs.
HCA offers an enrichment program designed for Denver Public School students from under-resourced communities. The tuition-free program runs for six weeks from June 16 through July 25, 2025, and emphasizes academic enrichment, social and emotional learning, cultural experiences and the arts, and health and wellness – including swimming.
The SEL Curriculum Coordinator will promote student success, provide direct SEL support to students and teachers.
The SEL Curriculum Coordinator will have responsibilities such as, but not limited to, the following:
- Promote the social emotional wellness of students and staff through programming that supports a positive culture and climate
- Develop, create and implement weekly SEL lessons for grades PreK-8th
- Advocate for student services and students’ best interests
- Submit weekly lesson plans for each lesson - due before each week
- Hold a bachelor’s degree
- Strong understanding of SEL frameworks: Familiarity with established SEL models like CASEL (Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning)
- Be available to attend the full 6-week program plus mandatory staff training sessions the week prior to program start
- Accomplished professional experience in one or more of the following settings: PK-12 schools, early childhood centers, out-of-school-time programs
- Experience providing culturally competent programming

The pay for this position is $22 - $25 per hour. Although this is a good faith and reasonable estimate of the possible compensation at the time of posting, Colorado Academy reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range. Any wage differential that may exist for the position does not relate to sex, gender or gender identity, but relates solely to a seniority system, a merit system, or relevant education, training and/or experience. Medical, Dental, Vision and Life Insurance benefit programs are available, as is a 403(b) retirement plan. Eligibility for all benefit programs is defined by the applicable plan document.
