SUMMARY: As an Assistant Shipping Manager at Heritage Auctions, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire shipping process to ensure the safe and timely delivery of our valuable items. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality and customer satisfaction.


LOCATION: South of Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, NW corner of W. Airport Freeway (Hwy. 183) and Valley View Lane

COMPENSATION: Commensurate on experience


ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage Shipping Operations: Oversee all aspects of the shipping process, including packing, labeling, documentation, and tracking of shipments.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and train a team of shipping coordinators and staff, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to company policies.
  • Quality Control: Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure the safe handling and packaging of items, preventing damage during transit.
  • Inventory Management: Coordinate with the inventory team to ensure accurate records and proper storage of items awaiting shipment.
  • Customer Service: Address and resolve shipping-related inquiries and issues from clients, providing exceptional service and support.
  • Compliance: Ensure all shipping activities comply with local, national, and international regulations and company policies.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve shipping processes to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports on shipping activities, performance metrics, and inventory status to senior management.
Requirements

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in shipping, logistics, or a related field, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
  • A bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field is preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and move heavy items as needed.
