Under the direct supervision of the Director of Safety and Security, oversee and supervise all security efforts related to the facility and surrounding grounds. This includes daily security operations and event security coordination. The Security Manager will also develop, implement, and manage security and emergency action plans, ensuring a safe, secure, and efficient environment for all guests, employees, and stakeholders.

- Plan, organize, and direct all personnel and activities necessary to establish a safe, secure, and efficient environment.
- Schedule security officers and building monitors for day-to-day operations and special events. Continue to adjust and update work schedules to reflect cost efficiency and building activity.
- Responsible for investigation of all safety and security incidents. Follow-up incidents with written reports and recommendations.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with police, fire, EMS, and other security personnel and/or safety organizations. Schedule police, EMS, and Fire Marshals for events as needed.
- Develop, implement, and oversee Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Emergency Action Plans (EAPs), ensuring all security personnel and staff are trained on crisis response protocols, evacuation procedures, and incident command structures.
- Investigate, report, and provide follow-up on security-related incidents, including safety hazards, trespassing, altercations, injuries, and property damage.
- Manage unusual circumstances caused by fire, storms, active shooter threats, riots, and other emergencies, ensuring proper escalation procedures are followed.
- Train and maintain standards for security personnel in emergency procedures, including fire safety, active threat response, and medical emergencies.
- Coordinate security staffing and emergency response planning for large-scale events, concerts, sports games, and conventions.
- Serve as the Security Manager on Duty (S-MOD) on a rotating basis, overseeing event security operations, including crowd control, access management, and emergency response readiness. Conduct post-event security assessments and compile after-action reports to enhance security effectiveness for future events.
- Develop and maintain a harmonious working relationship with all departments, external law enforcement, and emergency response agencies.
- Maintain security reports, incident logs, and risk assessments to ensure compliance with corporate policies, insurance requirements, and local laws.
- Ensure all security operations comply with industry standards, including DHS guidelines, NFPA 101 Life Safety Code, and event security best practices.
- Prepare payroll, maintain records, and compile reports for management periodically. Prepare daily labor reports.
- Handle complaints, disturbances, or related problems with the public, staff, or clients.
- Responsible for training the Security Officers in Access Control, Key Management, and Lutron Lighting.
- Justify and purchase supplies and equipment needed to maintain a safe and secure operation and the efficient day-to-day operation of the Safety and Security Department.
- Maintain back dock inventory, oversee campus shipping and receiving procedures, and ensure the safety of all working personnel on back docks throughout the facility campus.
- Maintain inventory logbook of security cage items.
- Attend weekly staff meetings. Develop and maintain a harmonious working relationship with all other departments.
- Work extended and/or irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Skills and Abilities
Position requires the following skills and abilities:
- Demonstrate knowledge of principles and techniques of planning, implementing, and supervising a facility security force. Possess knowledge of security issues related to a major sports and entertainment venue.
- Handle conflicts, make common sense decisions, and exercise proper action during high-tension and stressful situations.
- Remain certified in CPR and other emergency/life-saving techniques.
- Meet the physical demands of the job, which include being able to get in and around the facility (requires personal mobility) and working from various heights. Must perform strenuous physical duties at times, including lifting, carrying, moving, and climbing.
- Be able to withstand moderate to loud noises.
- Operate equipment such as light trucks, Gator, pallet jacks, carts, fire extinguishers, or other light power-driven equipment.
- Operate a personal computer using Windows and Microsoft Office software.
- Familiarity with Simplex, Tyco, Johns Controls style Fire Alarm systems, Genetec, Lutron, and similar security hardware equipment and software management platforms is a plus. The ability and willingness to learn these operating platforms are a must.
- Operate portable radio and standard office equipment.

Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and five years related experience and/or training or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Event Security and Crowd Management and/or public safety background preferred. Being able to communicate in Spanish is beneficial.
