Position Overview:


As a Lead Excavator, you will be responsible for performing sewer/ water line repairs and replacements. The lead excavator must be familiar with the use of heavy machinery to perform sewer and drain repair.


Excavation Crew Lead Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Complete excavations residential sewer/water line jobs using heavy machinery.
  • Able to perform repairs/replacements of sewer/water lines.
  • Ensure that all repairs or replacements are performed.
  • Ensure that all projects are completed safely, according to OSHA standards.
  • Work with Excavation Team to dig and set septic tanks and whole systems, sewer lines, water service, and gas lines to code/ quote specifications.
  • Properly grade trenches for sewer line pitch.
  • Safely operate excavation equipment.
  • Basic troubleshooting & diagnosing of residential plumbing issues (drain stoppages/restrictions, etc)
  • Perform all plumbing repairs and placements to Code.
  • Work with tools associated with drain stoppages (snakes, cameras, hydro jetters, etc).
  • Perform basic maintenance and upkeep on equipment.
  • Ensure that all tools, equipment, supplies, and assigned vehicles are clean and maintained.
  • Collect any money owed at the time of service if necessary.
  • Maintained compliance with all OSHA Safety Regulations and City Ordinances.
  • Ensure the customer is satisfied and happy with the work performed.
  • Maintain a high degree of integrity and loyalty toward the company and brand.
  • Act as a liaison between the customer and company.
  • Appearance – must display professionalism in appearance and mannerisms at all times. Truck must also be kept up to Black.
  • Always be safety conscious both on the job and while driving.
  • Participate actively in all training exercises and morning meetings.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED required
  • Maintain a clear driving record
  • Self-starter, reliable, flexibility with hours
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Tech savvy and proficient in using an I-Pad and Service Titan Preferred
  • Must pass random drug testing
  • Desire to grow within the company and complete additional certifications
  • Understanding of the current regulations within the field
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills on a technical level
  • Able to work both independently and as part of a team
  • General knowledge of power tools and techniques for care and safe use

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Climbing up and down on ladders and equipment
  • Heavy lifting required (50-75) pounds, ladder work and tight space work required from time to time
  • Ability to pick-up a minimum of 25 pounds consistently and carry up to 250 feet
  • Operate handheld power tools
  • Perform manual digging in tight areas
  • Wear personal protective equipment
  • Ability to work more than 40 hours per work week as needed

Working Environment:

  • Work both indoors and outdoors
  • Would be exposed to very hot or very cold temperatures
  • Will be in proximity to hazardous conditions, equipment, and situations
  • Wear safety attire, such as goggles or other protective clothing
  • Could be exposed to sounds and noise levels that are uncomfortable and distracting
  • Will be exposed to very bright or inadequate lighting conditions
  • Ability to climb ladders and work from roofs and scaffolding
  • Will work around exposed contaminants
  • Must be able to work in cramped work places, such as crawl spaces under floors


Salary Description
$30-$35/hr
