Position Objectives:
In collaboration with the Director of Individual Giving and the Major Gifts team, the Associate Philanthropic Specialist, Mid-Level Giving, is responsible for securing fundraising goals by cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding a portfolio of PETA donors
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
• Oversee a portfolio of 400-700 PETA donors who each give $500-$5000 annually
• Qualify new donors with a series of personalized communications
• Implement a communication plan (updates, invitations, proposals, reports) for each donor to cultivate relationships, solicit financial support, and provide stewardship
• Share personalized communications with donors, building relationships and having a minimum of 35 meaningful two-way connections monthly
• Identify and research appropriate "cases for giving" for targeted PETA donors
• Identify donors who wish to include PETA in their estate plans for follow-up
• Conduct donor visits by phone, in person and electronically
• Document pertinent information (meetings, correspondence, notes, research) to enhance and develop PETA donor profiles for PETA's database
• Staff fundraising events, as needed
• Perform any other duties requested by the supervisor
• Degree in a related field or equivalent experience required
• At least three years of progressive experience in fundraising or business development
• A high level of initiative, organizational skills, and attention to detail
• Exceptional persuasive and explanatory written and verbal communication skills
• Proven ability to maintain professional working relationships with members and supporters
• Proven excellent project management, strategic thinking, and analytical skills
• Experience with a donor database and proficiency in Microsoft Teams and Microsoft 365
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and always maintain strict confidentiality
• Professional appearance and adherence to a healthy vegan lifestyle
• Willingness and ability to travel
• Must be at least 21 years of age and have a valid U.S. driver's license, a minimum of three years of driving experience, and a satisfactory driving record
• Ability to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.
• Ability to represent PETA's philosophy and professionally advocate PETA's positions on issues
• Commitment to ending speciesism and defending the rights of all animals
The hourly pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00 per hour. The ultimate hourly pay within this range that will be offered to a qualified candidate will be determined based on the candidate’s experience and the cost of living in the area in which the candidate will live and work.
