Come join us for the summer at the Alfond Municipal Pool Complex! Provide our pool patron with a safe and high-quality experience as a lifeguard. If you are looking to spend your summer in the sun, you've come to the right place!

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Provide high quality surveillance of assigned pool area.
•  Assist and complete daily operations of the pool complex, including daily cleaning, general maintenance, and station readiness.
• Keep accurate counts of zone quality to provide full and adequate zone coverage. 
• When needed test and record pool tests.
• Maintain observation and tidiness of bathroom spaces as well as general pool areas. 
• Recommend needed supplies and equipment necessary for maintenance and safety standards to be met for proper functioning of pool area.
• Assist Pool Managers and Directors in implementing, promoting, and publicizing all aquatics programs and activities.

  SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:

• Ability to recognize emergencies and respond appropriately, including incidents in the water and on land.
• Ability to interact with the general public and staff at all levels.
• Demonstrate internal and external customer service skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work well with various personalities
• Ability to teach through demonstration

KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

• Certified in Lifeguarding, CPR, AED, & First Aid through an accredited program (American Red Cross, YMCA Lifeguard, Etc.); Certification in Waterfront Lifeguarding or willingness to become certified strongly preferred.    

EXPERIENCE:

• Ability to work with diverse types of people in various settings. 
• Experience dealing with high stress situations and conflict resolution 

 WORK SCEHDULE:

• Regular seasonal is June 1, 2025 - September 2, 2025 
• Varied hours including days, evenings & weekends
• Staff members are expected to be available a majority of the season
