Description

Come join us for the summer at the Alfond Municipal Pool Complex! Lead our awesome lifeguards by providing oversight and support to them and by creating a safe and inclusive work environment. Work with a great team and spend your summer by the pool as a Lifeguard Manager at the Outdoor Pool!

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Develop and manage the schedule for all Lifeguard employees in a timely manner while ensuring the facility is adequately staffed, without being overstaffed.
  • Ability to lead coworkers by example, demonstrating respect and accountability.
  • Assist Aquatics Director in functions of pool operation such as routine maintenance and cleaning, chemical management, and backwashing. 
  • Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment necessary to meet State of Maine and Federal safety and inspection standards of pool operation. 
  • Conduct lifeguard staff audits at least once a week (rotating on selected employee) to ensure staff is adhering to all safety guidelines and responsibilities as an AYCC lifeguard. 
  • Assist Front Desk Managers in management of inventory of concessions daily, by ensuring inventory tracking is being completed by employees, and communicate with supervisor when supplies are low.
  • Conduct Weekly/Bi-weekly staff in-service training with the assistance of directors 
  • Manage inventory of facility and office supplies (paper products, wrist bands, etc.) and communicate with supervisor in a timely manner to order supplies before supplies run out.
Requirements

 KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

  • Certified in Lifesaving, CPR, and First Aid. Water Safety Instructor (WSI) certification preferred
  • Lifeguard Instructor Certification Preferred
  • Certified Pool Operator Certification Preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

 SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:

  • Demonstrate impeccable communication skills with employees and supervisors.
  • Demonstrate internal and external customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well with various personalities.
  • Ability to teach and lead through demonstration, teaching to all different styles of learning to promote and maintain an inclusive work environment.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.

EXPERIENCE:

  • At least 2 years of customer service experience is required.
  • Experience managing staff and/or teams is preferred.

 WORK SCEHDULE

  • Regular season for managers lasts from May 1, 2025 - September 2, 2025
  • Various hours including days, evenings, & weekends
  • Staff members are expected to be available a majority of the season

$16.00-18.00 per hour
