Job Description
The position includes duties as classroom teacher responsible for leading and managing all aspects of a school choir, including selecting and rehearsing music, conducting performances, coaching individual singers, organizing auditions, and overseeing the overall choral program, while fostering a positive musical environment for students of varying abilities, requiring strong vocal technique, music theory knowledge, and leadership skills to guide students towards high-quality performances.
Schedule
Mornings: Monday – Friday, plus scheduled events

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee administrative functions of choral program; teach a section of choir before school
- Select music for mass, concerts, and event
- Cooperatively collaborate on calendar of events
- Collaborate on musical theatre production
- Maintain choral music library
- Maintain equipment/instrument inventory
- Utilize educational music technology
- Coordinate recording and sound technology
- Plan and executive music field trips and tours
- Oversee student choral organizations
- Coordinates TAPPS Choral Participation and other competitions
- Coordinate concerts, rehearsals, stage set-up, PR, and programs
- Coordinate student performances for various school and community events
- Approach duties enthusiastically and optimistically; be willing to coach and be coached
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field
- Experience as a choir director, keyboard skills preferred
- Musical knowledge; the ability to interpret various styles
- Leadership and listening skills
- Teaching certificate or twelve credit hours in education courses preferred
