Description


Essential Functions: 

  • Ensure that product integrity and quality align with company standards and customer expectations 
  • Establish quality criteria for each product model  
  • Perform root cause analysis, quality-related experiments and statistical studies 
  • Create test procedures and sampling plans 
  • Conduct tests, pull and inspect samples according to established procedures 
  • Track, review, and examine trends in test data 
  • Become familiar with the requirements and testing procedures in the ANSI Z21.58-2018 CSA 1.6-2018, and ANSI Z21.89 -2017 CSA 1.18-2017 industry standards
  • Coordinate problem-solving and process improvement activities to assure quality products and reduce the cost of poor quality 
  • Work with factories to create and implement corrective action plans 
  • Answer questions regarding quality internally and externally 
  • Provide technical guidance to and communicate effectively with worldwide factories 
  • Travels both domestically and internationally to support product and customer needs (less than 10% of time) 
  • Other duties as assigned 
Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering field 
  • 5 years of relevant quality engineer experience 
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management systems, preferred 
  • Able to interpret a variety of technical instructions in written, mathematical, or diagram form and understand several abstract and concrete variables 
  • Statistical abilities, including designing experiments and sampling plans 
  • Ability to perform root cause analysis 
  • Familiarity with inspection, testing, and measurement tools 
  • Clear communication skills (oral, written, and presentation), including communicating technical information 
  • Ability to work well in a team environment, both as team member and leader 
  • Problem-solving skills, including the ability to facilitate group problem-solving 
  • Project management and organizational skills 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including professional Excel capabilities 
  • Lean Six Sigma certification is a plus 
  • Experience with outdoor cooking equipment or liquid propane products is a plus 
  • As we are an outdoor cooking company, any cooking experience is a plus
