Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our team. This position is available as full-time or part-time, offering flexibility to accommodate work-life balance. The ideal candidate will have experience in psychiatric care, a passion for patient-centered treatment, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations, diagnose mental health disorders, and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications as appropriate.
- Provide counseling, psychoeducation, and supportive therapy to patients.
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Educate patients and families about mental health conditions and treatment options.
- Participate in case consultations and team meetings as needed.
Qualifications:
- Licensed as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) in South Dakota.
- Master’s or Doctoral degree in nursing with a specialization in psychiatric care.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a mental health setting preferred.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and clinical skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems preferred.
