Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our team. This position is available as full-time or part-time, offering flexibility to accommodate work-life balance. The ideal candidate will have experience in psychiatric care, a passion for patient-centered treatment, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct psychiatric evaluations, diagnose mental health disorders, and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications as appropriate.
  • Provide counseling, psychoeducation, and supportive therapy to patients.
  • Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with regulatory standards.
  • Educate patients and families about mental health conditions and treatment options.
  • Participate in case consultations and team meetings as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Licensed as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) in South Dakota.
  • Master’s or Doctoral degree in nursing with a specialization in psychiatric care.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a mental health setting preferred.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and clinical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems preferred.
