Internship Program

MiddleGround Capital offers student internships to both bachelor’s and master’s students throughout the year.

During an individual’s time with our team, they will experience the life of a Private Equity professional and gain a new set of skills to take with them into the workforce. Our team of interns assists MiddleGround Operations, Investment, Investor Relations, Business Development, Marketing, and Back Office teams in the sourcing, evaluation and execution of potential investments, along with additional projects.

Interns and MGC work together to find the middle ground between showing initiative and building a fundamentally sound program that is mutually beneficial for them and MGC. Our goal is to help prepare students for their future career paths in Investment Banking and/or Private Equity by giving them "real life" experience. Our hope is to help young people land jobs/internships with established investment banks, complete IB analyst programs or in the private equity industry.

Program overview:

The internship program would be structured as a 6-month program, for students/recent graduates to work in-person in the Amsterdam office and report directly to members of our Business Development Team. We would like for this person to start ASAP.

The internship program is built up as (subject to change):

  • Week 1: Intro to MiddleGround; HR team kicks off onboarding, private equity overview, meet with individuals, learn about the MGC portfolio companies, learn more about the role Business Development plays in the deal pipeline etc.
  • Month 1: Internal training to familiarize yourself with DealCloud, Asana, Dropbox and other relevant back-end infrastructure that the BD team utilizes.

As part of your internship, you will be providing valuable back-end assistance to the team on live deals and projects, while learning the day-to-day of a private equity professional. Responsibilities will include supporting the firm’s deal tracking and pipeline management via DealCloud. This comprises of capturing all relevant deal and relationship data in DealCloud, maintaining data integrity, and summarizing/sharing relevant notes and metrics with broader BD and Investment Teams. Additionally, you will be tasked with various ad hoc assignments.

You will also have the opportunity to work with colleagues in the Investment and Operations team to further broaden your knowledge and skills.
