Position: Girl Experience Partnerships & Program Coordinator

Reports to: Girl Experience Manager

FLSA Status: Salaried, Exempt

Classification: Coordinator

Location: Traverse City Service Center

Grade: 3


Position Summary: The Girl Experience Partnerships & Program Coordinator is responsible for duties relating to the retention of girl members. Serves as a collaborative link between Girl Scouts of Michigan Shore to Shore and community organizations interested in providing programs based on the Girl Scout National Program Portfolio. Responsible for ensuring opportunities for Girl Scouts in grades 6th – 12th. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Develops, cultivates, and supports relationships with community program partners that expand Girl Scout programming. 
  2. Designs, plans, and ensures execution of council run programming for girls.
  3. Provides council-wide support for Juliettes, Destinations, Mackinac Island Scout Service Program-Girl Scout Honor Troop 147, and additional older girl programming opportunities.
  4. Provides council-wide support for the Highest Awards program, including working in collaboration with the Gold Award Support Team to promote, administer and manage the Gold Award.
  5. Keeps current on organizational knowledge and best practices by participating in GSUSA webinars, participating in Chatter groups, and utilizing gsConnect. 
  6. Serves as a resource for current volunteers regarding council and GSUSA policies, procedures, safety, and paperwork questions.
  7. Other related duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent education or work experience required
  • Demonstrated ability and sensitivity working with youth and persons of diverse backgrounds, cultures, lifestyles.
  • Experience in supervision and management of volunteers.
  • Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills, including public speaking and networking skills required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to plan, organize and implement a multi-faceted workload, handle pressure and meet organizational deadlines and goals.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight, take initiative, self-managed and thrive in fast-paced environment is essential.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects with conflicting priorities while meeting deadlines is essential.

  • Adherence to Girl Scouts of Michigan Shore to Shore policies and procedures
  • Registration as a member of Girl Scouts of the USA
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends
  • Willingness to travel as job requires
  • Capability to provide own transportation and maintain operator license
  • Ability to lift 20-25 pounds.
