Job Summary: Performs a wide variety of maintenance work having to do with keeping the grounds and landscaping alive and aesthetically pleasing and in good repair.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Mowing grass.
· Know the site and its characteristics, review landscape plans, understand which plants grow best in the local climate, soil conditions, and their characteristics.
· Seeding and fertilizing lawns.
· Trimming, edging, hedging trees and shrubs as needed to remove dead or diseased branches and to control their growth, size, and shape.
· Blowing leaves and debris by operating numerous pieces of landscape equipment
· Maintaining the aesthetic appeal of outdoor areas.
· Applying pesticides and preventing weed growth.
· See that schedule for proper watering, fertilizing, mowing, and weed and insect control on all lawn areas are carried out.
· Keep current on latest developments, new equipment, methods of cultivation, weed and insect control.
· Responsible to see that walks, driveways, parking areas, fences, and grounds are kept clean, safe, weed, and leaf free. Remove snow as needed.

MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Ø Education – High school diploma or equivalent, vocational/trade school education preferred.
Ø Work Experience – Three to five years in ground keeping preferred.

ENVIROMENTAL CONDITIONS: Work environment consists of daily patient contact, which may include exposure to blood, or other body fluids.
