Description

PROGRAM MANAGER, INROADS Internship Program (IIP), Northeast Region

INROADS is hiring a Program Manager to implement IIP activities in the Northeast Region. This role is for someone who thrives on building relationships, mentoring emerging leaders, and making a real impact on the lives of young professionals. If you enjoy guiding others toward their full potential, working in a collaborative and mission-driven environment, and connecting with corporate partners to create meaningful opportunities, this role is for you.

What you’ll gain from this role is the chance to be a pivotal part of a nationally recognized organization that’s transforming the future workforce. You’ll work under the supervision of the Regional Director, Northeast, and will be charged with working directly with motivated college students, empowering them to develop their professional skills while forging connections with prominent companies in the region. On any given day, you’ll be coaching interns, strategizing with team members, and collaborating with community and employer partners to ensure success for everyone involved.

The best person for this role is a natural coach, a strategic thinker, and someone who loves helping others succeed. You’ll need to be adaptable, organized, and comfortable working with diverse groups of people at all levels, from students to corporate executives. If you’re a relationship-builder at heart and ready to lead with purpose, we urge you to apply.

What You Will Do

  • Be a mentor and guide: Build strong relationships with interns, coaching them through their professional, personal, and academic growth. Help them set meaningful goals and track their progress along the way.
  • Collaborate across teams: Partner with fellow Program Managers and teams focused on securing and matching internship opportunities to create a seamless experience for student interns and employers.
  • Support student success: Identify interns who may need extra support and work with the Regional Director to create intervention strategies.
  • Facilitate key experiences: Lead orientation sessions, training activities, and performance reviews. Also, help onboard intern supervisors to ensure interns have a meaningful experience at their work site.
  • Coordinate events and workshops: Manage logistics for summer training sessions and facilitate workshops that build leadership and career readiness.
  • Engage and connect: Keep in touch with interns regularly through calls, video chats, and in-person coaching sessions. Document their progress, guide them towards solutions when they encounter challenges, and celebrate their wins.
  • Provide ongoing updates: Keep the Regional Director informed on program performance, employer relations, and intern progress.
  • Help interns get hired upon graduation: Collaborate across the organization and with employers to assist graduating interns in securing full-time positions.
  • Champion the INROADS brand: Support marketing and outreach efforts to help grow our community and share the impact of our work, which could include representing INROADS at career fairs and events to recruit students for internship opportunities.
