Starting Pay: $51,105-$59,245

Pathfinder is seeking a passionate and dedicated Assistant Director of Waiver Supports to provide leadership and operational oversight for residential waiver services. This role is essential in ensuring high-quality, person-centered supports for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities across multiple regions.


As the Assistant Director of Waiver Supports, You Will:

Lead & Manage Operations

  • Oversee daily operations of residential waiver services, ensuring compliance with Pathfinder’s mission, HCBS guidelines, and accreditation standards.
  • Collaborate with division directors to develop and implement strategic goals, measuring success through clear action plans.
  • Support and mentor Supported Living Managers, ensuring they have the necessary skills to excel in their roles.
  • Ensure cross-departmental alignment with HR, IT, and Accounting policies.

Drive Quality & Compliance

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of state and federal regulations, accreditation standards, and funding requirements.
  • Oversee case coordination for waiver services, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
  • Work closely with internal and external auditors, developing corrective action plans and ensuring compliance.

Champion Person-Centered Supports

  • Model and implement Person-Centered Thinking (PCT) tools and approaches in team meetings and service planning.
  • Encourage innovative and individualized service approaches that enhance independence and quality of life.
  • Maintain open communication with individuals supported, employees, families, and guardians to ensure their needs and voices are heard.

Maximize Resources & Team Development

  • Promote efficient use of agency resources, ensuring staffing levels and financial allocations align with program goals.
  • Identify opportunities for program growth and service expansion.
  • Actively engage in professional development to stay current with industry trends and best practices.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, empowerment, and continuous learning among staff.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Minimum of three years of experience in intellectual and developmental disabilities services.
  • At least two years in a supervisory or management role.
  • Experience in financial interpretation or a willingness to learn.
  • Crisis prevention, intervention, and teaching skills.
  • Valid driver’s license, insured vehicle, and safe driving record.

Requirements

Preferred Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of three years of experience in positions with increasing responsibility in the field of intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in a supervisory or management position.
  • Proven team management skills and the desire to develop direct reports.
  • Ability to interpret, or learn to interpret, financials.
  • Positive attitude and team player who welcomes collaborative decision making.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, if needed.
  • Crisis prevention, intervention, and teaching skills.
  • Valid driver’s license, insured vehicle, and safe driving record.
  • Ability to speak, hear, and read the English language.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds on a regular basis. May occasionally be required to lift up to 25 pounds.
