Greenville University is seeking an innovative faculty to join the Briner School of Business as a full-time tenure-track assistant or associate professor in Finance and Economics. This position begins in August 2025. The successful candidate will provide an experiential learning environment that is innovative and relevant, equipping students for success in finance, economics, and related fields. The selected candidate must provide evidence of a vibrant Christian faith, clearly understand and internalize the mission of Greenville University, and articulate the value of Christian higher education.


About the Briner School of Business

The Briner School of Business has established itself as an academically competitive program within a private liberal arts college. It aims to prepare graduates to excel in financial and economic decision-making, hone critical thinking and analytical skills, and communicate effectively about opportunities in the global business landscape.

The School of Business is seeking applicants with expertise in financial markets, corporate finance, macroeconomic and microeconomic theory, investment analysis, capital budgeting, international trade, or other areas of finance and economics that will complement and enhance our current programs.

Essential Functions

  • Deliver high-quality undergraduate instruction in Finance, Economics, and related business disciplines to on-campus and online students.
  • Teach courses in economics, corporate finance, and business management.
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of current and future programs.
  • Operate computer technologies relevant to face-to-face, hybrid, and online course formats.
  • Supervise and advise students on academic and career matters, praying for them and engaging in their spiritual formation.
  • Engage in professional development
  • Foster collaborations with industry, private, and governmental entities to expand networking opportunities that enhance the program and support student learning and employment outcomes.
  • Assist with recruiting and marketing efforts to increase student enrollment and retention.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated cultural competency and commitment to diversity and inclusion.
  • Commit to developing and executing experiential learning opportunities that bridge theory and practice.
  • Participate in university service, including committee work and department activities.
Requirements

Education:

  • Earned doctorate in Finance, Economics, or a closely related field. A doctorate in Business Administration with a Masters in Economics or Finance is also acceptable.

Experience:

  • Teaching experience at the university level is required.
  • Practical experience in finance or economics is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of financial and economic systems, both domestic and international.

Salary Band: $29,250-$88,000/ Annually. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions and department budget.
