Description

Greenville University is seeking a Full-time Head STUNT Coach. The Head Coach is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the STUNT program at Greenville University. This includes, but is not limited to, the organization and execution of practices, games, recruitment, team development, and administrative duties.  The Head STUNT Coach will support the Director of Spirit Programs in developing the foundation for the NCAA Division III STUNT program and building a program respected for its commitment to the mission and core values of Greenville University. The Head Coach will embody the university’s commitment to Christ-centered education and be a positive role model for student-athletes, fostering growth in character, academics, and athletic excellence.


  

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Program Leadership: Plan, schedule, and oversee practices, games/tournaments, and travel arrangements for the STUNT team.
  • Recruitment: Develop and implement a comprehensive recruitment strategy, including outreach, communication (emails, calls, letters), campus visits, and managing social media platforms.
  • Player Development: Design practice sessions to improve athletes’ technical skills in tumbling, stunting, and game readiness.
  • Academic Oversight: Monitor and support the academic progress of team members, encouraging excellence in the classroom.
  • Spiritual Mentorship: Foster spiritual growth among athletes through Bible studies, one-on-one mentoring, and character-building activities.
  • Event and Game Day Coordination: Organize and oversee the team's schedule in both home and away games as well as special university functions.
  • Fundraising and Community Engagement: Lead fundraising initiatives to support the program and build relationships with alumni, donors, and the local community.
  • Administrative Duties: Maintain compliance with institutional, conference, and NCAA regulations; manage budgets and necessary reporting; manages inventory.
Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of two years of coaching experience, preferably at the collegiate level.
  • Experience with STUNT, competitive cheer, or similar athletic programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach and refine advanced stunting and tumbling techniques.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Comprehensive understanding of STUNT and cheer programs at the collegiate level.
  • Effective communicator with strong written and verbal skills.
  • Proven ability to mentor, inspire, and develop student-athletes.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and first aid practices in cheerleading and STUNT.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with basic computer applications and social media platforms.

Working Conditions:

  • Physical: Combination of coaching/office environments, with exposure to gym facilities, strength & conditioning, and office settings. Requires the ability to perform physical activities such as standing, walking, lifting (up to 50 lbs.), and demonstrating athletic skills.
  • Mental: High-paced, dynamic environment that requires adaptability, patience, and      the ability to manage stress effectively.

Start Date: 

Must be able to start on or around June 1, 2025


Reporting Structure:

The Head STUNT Coach will report to the Director of Spirit Programs



Salary Band: $29,250-$88,000/ Annually. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions and department budget.
