POSITION SUMMARY:

Provides plan of care/treatments to patients 


POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Carry out therapeutic exercises and modalities (e.g., ultrasound, electric stimulation) and other interventions as prescribed by the physical therapist.
  2. Ensures accuracy and timeliness of documentation and charge entry for each patient visit, as well as cancellations and no shows.
  3. Monitors patient progress providing patient education. Regularly discusses patient progress, concerns and any needed modifications to the treatment plan with the physical therapist.
  4. Works collaboratively with other healthcare professionals (e.g., nurses, physicians, occupational therapists) to coordinate care.
  5. Assist in scheduling/re-scheduling patients.
  6. Assist with quality initiatives as needed/requested.
  7. Participates in educational programs, in-service meetings and continuing education as required by the hospital and Kansas State Board of Healing Arts. Attends hospital and departmental meetings as required.
  8. Assists with maintenance of the department including cleaning of surfaces and equipment before/after patient use and ordering supplies
Requirements

Certified Physical Therapist Assistant (CPTA) - Kansas licensure required

24 - 40 hours per week, requires weekend availability on a rotating schedule.
