Summary: As a Project Manager your main responsibility is to organize and lead mid-to-large-scale commercial projects by overseeing schedules, budgets, project financials, and client engagement.  Catalyst Construction values building lasting relationships with our clients and partners. As a Project Manager, you will be a front-line ambassador for our company.

 

  • Organize and lead multiple mid-to-large-scale commercial projects ensuring on time delivery, project quality, and adherence to budget.
  • Participate in projects from design development and estimating, through project buy out. Ensure GMP is accurate.
  • Interpret and analyze building plans and process RFI’s to ensure accuracy. Submit to engineers and architects for review.  
  • Lead scope review and ethical negotiation for subcontractor hiring and material purchasing. 
  • Partner with estimating and field team to develop project schedule and material sequencing.
  • Perform continuous scope reviews to ensure project compliance with plan documents.
  • Lead contract negotiations and manage overall project financials, including developing and maintaining financial projections, monitoring cash flow, and partnering with the accounting team for billings and project reconciliation.
  • Identify cost codes, approve invoices, and review monthly pay applications with the accounting team. 
  • Review monthly pay applications for owners and approve billings for contractors. 
  • Manage change orders and schedule adjustments. Inform accounting and field teams appropriately. 
  • Team with Project Superintendent to execute all construction phases while ensuring site safety and efficiency. 
  • Collaborate with Project Coordinator to execute RFIs, submittals, subcontracts, purchase orders, municipal agreements, etc.
  • Participate in business development initiatives to maintain and promote high-contact client relationships
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive project documentation.
  • Lead OAC meeting at an appropriate interval for project
  • Attend meetings and training assigned
  • Train and mentor new employees and be an ambassador of Catalyst Construction
  • Participate in the peer review process during annual compensation and performance reviews
Requirements

  

  • 2-4 years of experience with progressive responsibility within construction management; commercial experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s or associate degree in construction management, civil or architectural engineering or equivalent work experience preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of building products, building systems, construction law, contract terms, construction billing, and construction financial management
  • Advanced knowledge of construction project management processes and methods
  • Advanced ability to read and understand construction drawings and blueprints 
  • Advanced level understanding of Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Procore, and other PM software
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrates a high level of emotional intelligence when dealing with all levels of the company and clients 
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with coworkers, owners, and vendors 
  • Ability to effectively manage time, multi-task, and pay close attention to details
  • Self-motivated professional with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Regularly required to move, sit, and bend for various hours throughout the day
  • Reliable transportation 
  • Travel to construction sites as needed
  • Overnight travel needed
