Commercial Plumber
Description

The Commercial Plumber is responsible for cutting, gluing, welding, and other installations means and methods for piping, fixtures, and other plumbing systems. Ensure quality control is applied & implemented for the operation of all plumbing systems. Travel as needed is required. State of Texas Plumbing License preferred.

Requirements

Job Responsibilities (List is not inclusive)

· Assemble, install, maintain, and pressure test all pipes, fittings, and fixtures of heating, water, drainage, and gas systems according to specifications and plumbing codes.

· Determine sources of plumbing malfunctions and complete repairs as indicated or according to work orders.

· Locate and mark positions for connections and fixtures.

· Install and repair pipes, fittings, valves, fixtures, and plumbing system equipment, including sinks, commodes, water heaters, water softeners, etc.; install supports and hangers for pipe, fixtures, and equipment.

· Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout of plumbing systems, water supply networks and waste and drainage systems.

· Plan, install and service plumbing systems, fixtures, piping equipment and controls, test pipe systems and fixtures for leaks.

· Receive and complete work orders.

· Select material and hardware and make time and materials estimates.

· Maintain accurate records on material and labor used.

· Maintain inventory of tools, equipment, and materials.

· Inspect jobs upon completion and ensure areas are clean.

· Work with supervisors to complete projects.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

· Learn quickly and adapt to a variety of technology, tools, instructions, and task methods.

· Meet deadlines in terms of work assignment schedules.

· Interact daily in person with other members of the department and school district staff and possess comfortable interpersonal skills and cooperative attitudes.

· Maintain consistent attendance due to the urgent nature of duties and because work product of position is interdependent with that of other staff.

· Convey an understanding, patient attitude toward others.


Education and Experience

· High school diploma or GED equivalent required.

· OSHA 30 Certification required.

· 7 plus years of experience is required.
