Description
The Dispatcher is responsible for monitoring security and other systems. A clear understanding of the facilities assets is required, specifically the location, operational nature and hours of operation. The Dispatcher must be familiar with who is authorized to enter and occupy the various areas/spaces within the facilities, be able to discern suspicious behavior via monitoring equipment, and be well-versed in dispatching appropriate response to suspicious activities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Must protect the facility assets
- Monitor security systems
- Detect and assess events and alarms and to take appropriate action
- Dispatch Security Officers and/or emergency services
- Coordinate security communications into and out of the facilities
- Generate reports from the security systems as needed
- Document all activity in the Incident Reporting System
- Conduct security system tests and audits
- Communicate and address emergencies effectively and calmly
- Additional duties as assigned by manager
Requirements
Education and Required Experience
- High School Diploma required / Bachelor's degree preferred
- Previous experience in retail environments is preferred.
- 3+ year of direct security systems and technology experience preferred
- preference given to individuals with law enforcement dispatch or emergency services dispatch background
Skills, Qualifications and Other Requirements
- Working knowledge of physical and electronic security systems
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and assignments to achieve desired outcomes within established time schedules and to function calmly and effectively during times of emergencies are required.
- Possess excellent organizational , problem solving and communication skills
- Exercises good judgement and initiative.
- Working knowledge of computer software and Microsoft office
