Job Summary

The Fabricator’s primary responsibility is to assemble stainless steel tanks by cutting, forming, and assembling metal parts using a variety of tools and machinery. 

Major Responsibilities and Essential Functions

· Fabricate stainless steel vessels and systems to top-quality standards. 

· Perform fabrication of skids, systems, platforms, and tanks.

· Support design and layout documentation in coordination with Engineering. 

  • Demonstrate      high proficiency in MIG and TIG welding on stainless steel.
  • Operate      heavy equipment such as fork trucks, overhead cranes, and man lifts.

· Help with project and equipment specifications and best practices.

· Perform welding duties in the construction, repair, and maintenance of tanks and vessels.

· Perform quality control checks to ensure welding meets industry standards and specifications.

· Use hand tools including grinders, cutting tools, and polishers.

  • Interpret      blueprints and communicate any issues that may arise.

· Work with measuring tools and other equipment to verify the dimensions, tolerances, and other critical features of the product.

· Actively keeps the work area clean and organized.

· Perform assigned duties in a safe and responsible manner, without exposing yourself or other employees to unnecessary risk of injury.

·  Follows safety procedures/guidelines to ensure a safe work environment including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) and using appropriate safety equipment and tools.

· Collaborate with other team members, such as Grinders, to ensure tanks are produced to the required specifications and quality standards.

· All other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications and Minimum Requirements

  • Fabricating      experience and knowledge of processes and techniques
  • Knowledge      of principles and processes of welding stainless steel
  • Ability      to read and interpret blueprints 
  • Physical      ability to lift heavy materials and work in confined spaces
  • Attention      to detail and ability 
  • Ability      to work independently and as part of a team
  • Previous      experience with equipment and tools, including cutting torches, grinders,      welders, etc.
  • Strong      communication skills and ability to follow safety protocols
  • Willingness      to work in various weather conditions and environments
  • Ability      to set up and troubleshoot common welding equipment.

Working Conditions

This position routinely operates in a medium-noise, non-climate-controlled facility with regular exposure to dust and residue. Machinery is present and in operation. Hours of work are determined based on shift.

This role requires the employee to occasionally stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, the ability to work in confined spaces, and ability to adjust focus.
